Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Techr. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Techr.

Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
• You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been misused.
• One person per account. Don't sign up using someone else's email address or ticket.

Events and tickets

Tickets are sold by third-party ticketing platforms under their own terms, including refund policies. Techr uses ticket information to confirm who may register for an event. Event organizers set the rules for their events (for example idea submission, voting, team formation, and judging) and may change schedules or details. Organizers' decisions about teams and results are final.

Acceptable use

Follow the Code of Conduct. In particular, don't:

• harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone;
• post content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you don't have the right to share;
• upload malware, or try to access accounts or data that aren't yours;
• scrape, overload, or interfere with the site, or manipulate voting or results.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.

Your content

You keep ownership of the ideas, files, projects, and messages you submit. You give Techr permission to store and display that content as needed to run the service and the events you take part in (for example showing your idea to other participants). Intellectual property in hackathon projects is shared among team members unless the event's rules say otherwise; agree on this with your team.

Availability and changes

Techr is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and accurate but can't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Techr is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or from events organized by third parties.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
